Record what you own and how to identify it
Create records for belongings such as electronics, furniture, appliances, tools and collections. Add the details you actually have; an item does not become more reliable because an app invents missing information. Update the record as you locate receipts, identify a model or add a clearer photo.
- Item name, category and quantity
- Photo and receipt reference
- Purchase date and recorded value
- Serial number, model number and notes
Make the same record useful after the purchase
A purchase record can also be the starting point for warranty tracking, maintenance history and lending. For example, the record for a power tool can hold its identifying details, its warranty date, a care log and the loan that explains why it is not currently on the shelf. These are connected records, not separate lists to recreate each time.
Find an item or review the wider collection
Search and filter the inventory, switch between table and grid views, and organize items with categories, kits and collections. Review recorded values, low quantities, items on loan and warranties coming up for expiration. Books can use a focused view with reading information and library details.
Keep sharing and portability in your control
Choose the visibility of items you want to share. Use inventory reports when you need to review information for insurance-claim preparation, and export inventory records to CSV when you want to work with them in a spreadsheet. A JSON app backup provides a separate way to save supported Life OS records.
